On May 28, in the mode of videoconference, an online meeting of the deputy akim of the West Kazakhstan region Narymbetov B.Kh took place on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the formation (May 28, 1918) of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
The online meeting was attended by deputy akims of Aktobe, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan regions and the Head of the Azerbaijani ethnocultural associations, from the West Kazakhstan region, the Azerbaijani ethnocultural association "Birlik".
The deputy akim of the region congratulated the participants on the brightest holiday in the history of the Azerbaijani people, which marked the unification of the country, on the Day of the Republic!
It is important to note that the region attaches particular importance to the development of relations with fraternal Azerbaijan. This is confirmed by the expansion of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two states.
Today, the active development of the two states, proximity and belonging to the Turkic culture contribute to effective cooperation.
The population as of April 1, 2021 is 662,000 people, of which 1,698 are Azerbaijanis (0.25%).
Since 1999, the Azerbaijan ethnocultural association "Birlik" has been actively working in the region, headed by its Chairman Najaf Mammadov.
