On May 25, an official visit was organized by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan S.P. Niyazkhodzhaev.
The first deputy akim of the region especially noted the development and cooperation in the field of agriculture, including the supply of products (seeds, grain, meat, etc.). Also, the creation of joint tour packages contributing to the development of business and ethno-tourism.
It is important to note that trade and economic cooperation is actively developing, so within the framework of the II Forum of interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in Urgench, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Steklo-Service LLP (RK) and JV Steklo-Service LTD. (RU).
According to statistical data for January-March 2021, the region's foreign trade turnover with the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 1.6 million US dollars, including exports - 1.4 million US dollars, imports - 233.2 thousand US dollars.
One of the important issues at the moment is undoubtedly labor migrants. Since the beginning of the year, 808 labor migrants (citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan) have been registered with the migration authorities, at the end of 2020, 3,555 people.
According to the monitoring of attracting foreign labor to work in the West Kazakhstan region, today in the region in 103 enterprises and organizations that attract foreign labor, only 14 696 people work, of which 396 are seasonal workers.
In general, foreign labor is attracted to the mining industry, as well as to the agriculture and construction industries.
Also, Mr. Ambassador highlighted the development of digitalization in the region. Today, the Uzbek side is analyzing the development of digitalization in the region. The first deputy akim of the region M.N. Mankeev offered to get acquainted with the work of the IT-Hub and further cooperation in the field of digitalization.
Mr. Ambassador expressed special gratitude to the West Kazakhstan region for the assistance provided in providing a transit corridor for the export of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan across the State Border.
During the visit, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan visited a number of facilities where citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan work, the farm "Ulanov PS", the construction project of the residential complex "Grand House".
