Olzhas Bektenov Inspected the Development of Industry and Social Infrastructure and Reviewed Preparations for the Kazakhstan–Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum in West Kazakhstan.
As part of a working visit to the West Kazakhstan Region, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov toured a number of industrial and social infrastructure facilities.
In the city of Uralsk, during visits to the domestic enterprises QazExpoCentre-Pipe and Kubley, the Prime Minister reviewed ongoing efforts to attract investment to the region, expand processing in the agro-industrial sector, and introduce digital technologies into production in line with the objectives outlined by the Head of State in the Address to the Nation.
According to the West Kazakhstan Regional Akimat, industrial output increased by 4.7% over the first nine months of the year. The manufacturing sector demonstrated strong growth of 20.8%.
At the QazExpoCentre-Pipe site, the Prime Minister was briefed on the technological process for producing tubing, casing, and seamless pipes for the oil and gas industry. The enterprise’s annual production capacity is 40,000 tons of pipes. Its products are in demand among oil-producing and service companies in Kazakhstan as well as in neighboring and distant foreign markets.
As part of production digitalization, a QR code labeling system has been introduced for products. Currently, work is actively underway to implement radio-frequency identification technologies for pipes and to integrate them into global monitoring systems. In addition, the manufacturer has its own proprietary developments that ensure high tightness and technological efficiency under challenging oil and gas extraction conditions.
The Prime Minister was also informed about the progress of major investment projects in the region. As of the results of the first half of 2025, the volume of foreign direct investment attracted to the West Kazakhstan Region amounted to $1.1 billion. By this indicator, the region ranks third nationwide after Almaty and Astana. The Akim of the West Kazakhstan Region, Nariman Toregaliyev, reported on ongoing efforts to launch 73 new investment projects, which are expected to create more than 10,000 new jobs over the next five years.
