West Kazakhstan Region ranks third in the country by volume of foreign direct investment

In accordance with the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, attracting investment into the national economy is one of the key priorities for regional development and the launch of new industries. In this regard, systematic and effective efforts are being carried out in the West Kazakhstan Region.

In his Address to the People of Kazakhstan this year, the Head of State placed special emphasis on attracting investment as a key mechanism for ensuring the country’s sustainable development and strengthening its economic potential. In line with the President’s instructions, consistent and targeted measures are also being implemented in the West Kazakhstan Region. All necessary conditions have been created in the region for entrepreneurs interested in investing.

In particular, substantive negotiations are being held with major companies from the People’s Republic of China and the Czech Republic with the aim of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation, and a number of investment agreements are being signed. This demonstrates that the region is increasingly being recognized as a reliable partner at the international level.

As a result, according to the outcomes of the first half of 2025, the volume of foreign direct investment attracted to the region amounted to USD 1,093 million, which is 1.7 times higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Today, the West Kazakhstan Region ranks third nationwide in terms of foreign direct investment volume, following the cities of Almaty and Astana.

Overall, these achievements in attracting investment are driving regional economic growth, facilitating the opening of new industries, increasing employment opportunities, and improving the well-being of the population.
